The Nassau County High School Football Championship will be decided this weekend and for the Floral Park Knights, it’s been a long wait to get there.

The Floral Park football team is not an overnight success, but now the Knights are near the top of Nassau County.

Friday night the team will play for a county championship and some of the players said they are already dreaming about what that celebration would be like.

The team has not won a championship since 1976. It’s been 47 years since the Knights have been county champs and the players say it’s time to end that drought.

The players hope a lot of their fellow students and fans will come out to Hofstra University when they take on South Side at 7:30 p.m.
