Residents pitched in to help their neighbor repair her flood-damaged home in Babylon.
Kim Finnell's home on Pearsall Street was damaged in the recent flooding that hit the South Shore. Finnell is a single mother with two sons, and one is being deployed to Afghanistan next month. She says she is grateful for the help.
"It's an amazing experience when they came together," says Finnell. "They don't know me, but they all had similar problems and came to help me."
The groups who worked on the house were Neighbors Supporting Neighbors and Lindy Man Power. They were joined by more volunteers from Babylon, Lindenhurst and Freeport.
