Franklin Square residents are hoping stop signs will be installed on what they say is a dangerous road.
Neighbors say Fenworth Boulevard near popular Rath Park could use additional stop signs. They say there's an incline and cars start to pick up speed when they come up to intersections.
Residents say it can be hard to safely pull off of side streets along the roadway.
Neighbor Luke Varisco says just about a week ago, he was in the car with his girlfriend when they got into an accident just down the block from his home.
"We had a mailman parked on the corner obscuring her view so she started inching out. Just when she inched out enough to see what was going on, there was a car speeding up this hill and we crashed like a T-bone," he says.
Others who live in the area say they're not surprised.
Filomena Agostini says she hears and sees near-misses all the time.
Hempstead town officials say they'll look into the neighbors' complaints and do a traffic study to see if stop signs are warranted.
