A Long Island veteran was the recipient of a home makeover in Shirley on Saturday.

Volunteers from Home Depot and Paws of War teamed up to make the U.S. Navy veteran's house more accessible. They installed a ramp since he is fully wheelchair dependent after having his leg amputated.

The volunteers also repaired and repainted the deck, porch and beautified the home with new landscaping.
