Nassau County plans to appeal the awards given to two men who were wrongfully convicted of murdering a Lynbrook teen.
As News 12 has reported, John Restivo and Dennis Halstead were cleared by DNA evidence in the rape and death of Teresa Fusco back in 2003. They served more than 17 years, but claim they were framed by Nassau police.
A jury has awarded the men $18 million, ruling that their civil rights were violated.
Restivo is now demanding that the Nassau District Attorney's Office review all the cases handled by the detectives who worked the case.
Fusco's mother still believes the men are guilty, but Restivo claims she was mislead by police.
