Police: Man found dead on New York Avenue in North Bay Shore

A man was found dead Wednesday afternoon in North Bay Shore, according to police.
Homicide detectives say they are investigating the death on New York Avenue as a homicide, and they believe it happened on Wednesday.
Homicide squad detectives say the man was found in the bushes on the side of the road.
"A resident came home, saw blood on the street. Another resident came home, saw the blood and saw a body on the side of the road," said Det. Lt. Kevin Beyrer.
Police were called to the scene around 5 p.m.
They say they haven't identified the victim, but police believe they know who he is.
