Reaction is pouring in from Nassau residents after County Executive Bruce Blakeman announced he is running for governor. Many are positive, but some are concerned about him running the county while also campaigning across the state. "There are a lot of responsibilities involved with being the Nassau county executive," said Josh Horowitz, of Long Beach. Horowitz says he voted for Blakeman, but says Nassau needs his full attention. So does Democratic Minority Leader Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton, who says it's impossible to do both. "Maybe he should think about stepping down," she said. While Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton is giving the county executive's run for governor a thumbs down, town supervisors in Nassau are also weighing in and reacting more positively to the news. "Bruce Blakeman has been a true leader - standing up for tax payers, pushing back against Albany's dangerous criminal policies, and fighting for suburban families," says Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino.
