Nassau police say a man is facing murder charges after his wife was found fatally shot in her Levittown home Thursday night.
They say it was a domestic dispute between three people that turned deadly. Court documents say Thomas Dinapoli, 67, shot his wife, 61-year-old Cheryl Dinapoli, with a rifle multiple times in the home on Cord Lane around 11:45 p.m.
Sources say that the third person involved was Thomas' brother-in-law, who was wounded.
Police have not confirmed what sparked the violence, but say Thomas did shoot his wife. They say she was dead by the time officers arrived.
Sources tell News 12 after Cheryl was shot, her brother started wrestling with Thomas. They say at that point, more shots were fired which struck the brother several times.
Court documents say the other victim was fired at with a shotgun and was struck in the torso and right arm. They say he's expected to survive.
Neighbors say Cheryl was a kind and hardworking woman who went out of her way to help others.
Police say Thomas is now being charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder.
