Nassau County has completed its own inspection of toy stores after the recent recalls involving tainted toys made in China.
The Nassau County Health Department checked out 132 toy stores in the county to make sure the recalled toys were off the shelves. Health officials say there were some recalled toys still on the shelves at three stores that said they weren?t aware of the recalls. The county faxed the guidelines to those three stores and says now every store is in compliance.
Meanwhile, the latest recalls are for SpongeBob SquarePants address books and journals. Included in previous recalls were toys from the movie ?Cars? and Polly Pocket dolls. Officials say the recalled toys have lead in them.
