A big welcome reception was held Sunday for the latest addition to Museum Row in Garden City. Firefighters and their families joined local politicians for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the newly opened Nassau County Firefighters Museum. The day also included a parade, museum tours, and lots of firefighting equipment from many different departments. Museum officials say Long Islanders of all ages can come by and learn about fire prevention, the history of the fire service and modern day firefighting. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday.
