Nassau County designates May 20 as Steve Guttenberg Day

On Monday, Guttenberg spoke with the new class of Nassau County police recruits.

Nassau County has designated May 20 Steve Guttenberg Day.
The 65-year-old Nassau native is best known for his roles in the 1984 movie "Police Academy" as well as three of its sequels. Guttenberg also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On Monday, he spoke with the new class of Nassau County police recruits.
"The police have always been a great part of my life. And the more police we have, the safer our cities are, our towns are, our streets are,” Guttenberg said.
Guttenberg said his dad is a former NYPD officer.
