Nassau County officials are cracking down on what they call illegal limousine operators this prom season.
Officials say police officers will be at catering halls around the county stopping limos and buses from proms. The officers will be searching the vehicles for alcohol and drugs. According to county officials, cops will also be checking operators? licenses, registration and insurance.
So far this season, county officials say officers have given out 82 citations. County Executive Tom Suozzi and the Consumer Affairs commissioner will be holding a news conference on the crackdown Thursday.
