Nassau County's commissioner of civil service resigned Tuesday.

News 12 is told there had been complaints that Karl Kampe Jr. didn't show up to work in his Hempstead office.

According to Newsday, Kampe retired from the post in 2008 but was reappointed to the same job by the county civil service board.
