Teens rolled up their sleeves to get vaccinated at Nassau Community College Thursday as part of a new initiative.
Nassau County and Northwell Health are hosting a four-day high school vaccination event in the college's gym.
Zaheerah Fuller, of Elmont, says it's the best choice for her and her family.
"How the country is moving. The best option for everyone's safety is to get vaccinated to move into the positive direction so everything can start getting open back up and we can get back to normalcy," says Fuller.
Everyone who gets vaccinated over the next four days will get a shirt that says they're a 'vaccine ambassador.'
The program hopes to encourage more and more teens to get vaccinated.
