A Queens nanny was charged Wednesday with sexually abusing a North Woodmere 3-year-old after allegedly being caught on videotape.
Police say the boy's mother suspected Carol Clarke, 45, was abusing her child. After setting up a hidden camera in the diaper-changing area, police say four abusive incidents were recorded during a three-week period. If convicted, Clarke faces up to 28 years in prison.
Clarke also worked at Nana's TLC Child Care in Hempstead. Nana's owner says she was shocked by the charges and immediately fired Clarke upon finding out. Nana's owner says employees are never alone with the children and several video cameras record their actions. Police say the child care center is not under investigation.
