Mumps case confirmed in Smithtown school
Officials have confirmed a case of the mumps at Smithtown High School East.
Health officials are not saying if the patient is a student or a teacher.
However, they say since school is in winter recess there is no threat to students' health.
Primary symptoms of mumps include swelling and pain in the salivary glands.
