Train service was suspended Tuesday night between Northport and Kings Park due to a broken rail in a single-track territory, according to the MTA.
At around 8 p.m., the MTA said it was ordering buses, and once they were secured, eastbound trains to Port Jefferson would offload at Northport. Travelers would be able to transfer to bus service to Kings Park and then resume train service eat.
Westbound trains from Port Jefferson would offload at Kings Park, where customers would be able to transfer to bus service to Northport, where eastbound train service resumes.
While the issue is being repaired, the MTA advised customers to use alternate branches, such as the Ronkonkoma branch, where possible, or seek alternative travel means.
