Motown legends the Commodores performed in Hempstead Town Park in Point Lookout Saturday night to honor local veterans.
Floral Park resident Dominick Critelli, who is 100 years old, is a World War II Battle of the Bulge veteran. He played the national anthem at the concert on his saxophone.
Critelli says playing music for audiences helps keep him feeling young.
“I go out and play with a band, we play all of the swing music,” he says. “Tommy Dorsey, we play Benny Goodman, all of those big bands we play…makes you feel young.”
The night was capped off after the Commodores’ performance with a big firework show.
