Police say a motorcyclist died after crashing into a school bus in Baldwin this morning.

According to detectives, a 27-year-old male was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Merrick Road when he collided with an Atlantic Express Transportation school bus.

Police say the bus was traveling southbound on Lancaster Avenue and onto Merrick Road.

Officials say no children were hurt, but the 64-year-old bus driver was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The children were unharmed and ranged in age from 5 through 14 years old.

The investigation is ongoing.
