A man accused of beating his mother and brother with an aluminum bat was arraigned Thursday in a Central Islip court.
Waalee Muhammad, 29, allegedly beat his 24-year-old brother Wednesday while the victim slept in the family?s Brentwood home on Suffolk Avenue. Authorities say Muhammad also turned his rage against his 61-year-old mother. A neighbor says the bloody woman stumbled to her door for help. The mother is expected to recover, but her son is in grave condition. Police say another brother subdued the suspect.
In court, Muhammad said he was the victim, but authorities say he confessed to the crime. He is being held on $1 million bail.
