More than 50 were found, including some that officials said were sickly and near death. The organization said respirators were needed to save some of the pets.Authorities learned of the house after a Speonk couple's dog was stolen on Saturday. Police said an ad was found online looking for someone to adopt the dog for a fee. They said the posting lied about the way the dog was obtained.According to police, Karen Schleich and David Bernacchi operated Lucky Funds Rescue.
