Three players from the New York Mets were in Lido Beach today to help make some repairs to a science center damaged by Sandy.
Eric Young Jr., Chris Young and Zach Wheeler pitched in with the relief work at the Nike South Shore Environmental Center. The Major League Baseball Players' Trust recently gave a $50,000 grant to help restore damage the center sustained during the storm.
The center has also received contributions to help rebuild from Hofstra University and the National Grid.
Most of the cleanup has already been done, but more repairs cannot be made until the center gets more donations.
