The New York Mets and the New York Yankees played in their new stadiums for the first time Friday.

The Mets played two exhibitions games against the Boston Red Sox and the Bronx Bombers faced off against the Chicago Cubs.

About 15,000 Yankees fans toured the new $1.5 billion stadium Thursday and got to see the team practice. The Mets toured their new $800 million stadium Thursday night.

Yankees fans that spoke to News 12 Long Island on opening day say they got their money?s worth between all the facility upgrades, expanded food options, flat screen televisions all over the stadium, extra space and new aesthetic attributes like photo displays.

However, fans say they?re worried about the new ticket prices. The average price of a Yankees ticket jumped nearly 76 percent from last year, while the average Mets ticket rose nearly 10 percent, according to officials. Die-hard fans will undoubtedly shell out the big bucks, but some say the ticket prices are a little too steep.
