? A Merrick woman accused of killing her husband was put behind bars Thursday.
Police say Kelly Forbes, 29, strangled her husband with an electrical cord while her 7-year-old daughter was at home.
Kelly Forbes was under arrest on a murder charge early Thursday. Police don't know whether the 29-year-old woman has a lawyer, and no telephone number can be found for the couple.
Nassau County police say 50-year-old Michael Forbes was unresponsive, but alive, when officers arrived Thursday morning. They had gotten a 911 call seeking help.
Kelly and her 7-year-old daughter were home when police arrived.
Friends and family say the couple just got married in September and had just been renovating their house. Police say they found no history of domestic or financial troubles between the couple.
Michael Forbes died shortly afterward at a local hospital. Authorities have determined he died of asphyxiation.
Kelly Forbes is being held without bail. If convicted, she could spend life behind bars.
Forbes?s daughter is now living with her mother?s parents.
