Memorial Sloan-Kettering cancer center opens in Uniondale

A new $180 million cancer center is open in Uniondale.
A grand opening ceremony was held Thursday for the new Memorial Sloan-Kettering Center.
The facility includes a state-of-the-art radiology and radiation therapy suite, private infusion rooms for treatments and a rehabilitation gym.
It allows patients to receive treatment in Nassau without having to go to Manhattan.
Nearly 200 medical professionals are employed at the center.
The major center g center is in additional to satellite centers in Commack and Hauppauge.
