Friends and family gathered Sunday in Long Beach to dedicate a memorial for two Long Island soldiers. Air Force Master Sergeant Michael Maltz was killed on a mission in Afghanistan and Specialist Jacob Fletcher was among the first to die in Iraq. The two soldiers were killed almost three years ago, but community members came together for a special dedication of two boardwalk benches in their honor. Dorine Kenney, the mother of Specialist Fletcher, began a not-for-profit soldier care program in her son?s name. She says she has sent more then 58,000 pounds of supplies to soldiers overseas.
