Officials say 43-year-old Daniel Labbe is already serving a prison sentence for a similar theft.
He is accused of stealing two catalytic converters from a work truck parked at MJM Plumbing and Mechanical on Route 25A in Rocky Point last year.
Labbe is due back in court next month.
