With a police escort leading the way, a Marine from Malverne arrived home Saturday to the cheers of dozens of flag-waving family and friends.
Second Lieutenant James Colvin returned after spending seven months in the war-torn Iraqi city of Ramadi. Colvin?s aunt says they are all very grateful to have him home. Colvin says he is happy to be home and returns with a greater appreciation for the freedoms he and his comrades are fighting for.
Colvin says he plans to spend time with family and friends and go on a cruise before he heads back to California to complete his service with the Marines.
