Police
say a Queens man has plead guilty to manslaughter in the fatal shooting of an
Elmont man.
According
to the Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, Edson Giron Figueroa pleaded
guilty to manslaughter in the 2021 shooting death of a 25-year-old Elmont man
in Jamaica.
According
to police, the incident happened at 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, July 24 as Giron
Figueroa, 21, was walking to a building looking to rob someone.
Giron
Figueroa approached the victim, Albert Serrato, 25, from behind and pointed the
gun while demanding money.
Police
say when Serrato turned around, Giron Figueroa fired several times and ran
away.

Figueroa later asked a friend to dispose of the gun.
Giron
Figueroa is expected to be sentenced on March 21 to 20 years in prison.
