A man and the lifeguards who rescued him met in a heartwarming reunion Thursday.
Herb Molander, 75, is alive thanks to a couple of brave Oyster Bay lifeguards. They jumped into the Syosset-Woodbury pool to save him from a near-fatal heart attack.
It happened on July 27, when Molander was there to swim his daily laps.
The town lifeguards spotted him in distress in the water and jumped in to save him. Through CPR and AED, they were able to revive him.
The lifeguards were named heroes by Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino.
