Nassau County police say Ronaldo Tomlinson, 23, and another man got into an argument that escalated to blows at the Uniondale Park on 710 Uniondale Ave.
Tomlinson drew a small box cutter when the victim attempted to defend himself, causing two small punctures in his back and a slash wound near his right ear.
Police say the victim left the park while Tomlinson followed him still holding the knife.
Upon police arrival, Tomlinson was placed under arrest without further incident, and the victim was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Tomlinson was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
