Police say one person has been arrested and charged in the shooting of an off-duty NYPD officer in Brooklyn.
Police say on Tuesday, housing officer Tramaine Oxley was seated in a vehicle parked on Linden Boulevard when two suspects approached the vehicle.
According to police, two suspects, one armed with a gun, opened the driver side door.
The suspects then removed an undetermined amount of property from the victims' vehicle and fled the location on foot.
Police say the victims attempted to flee, but encountered the suspects again. That is when the suspects fired and struck Oxley, who returned fire from his service weapon.
The suspect has been identified as Tori Saunders, 22, of Manhattan. Saunders has been charged with attempted murder of a police officer, robbery, assault, criminal use of a firearm, among other charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
