A man wanted in connection with a murder investigation on Long Island has been found in North Carolina.
The Pitt County Sheriff's office tells News 12 Long Island that Michael Gaines is now in custody.
Gaines is believed to be involved in a shooting that left one victim dead at the Shinnecock Indian Reservation.
North Carolina authorities say Gaines was arrested for breaking into a car and a separate New York parole violation.
Gaines is being held without bond on a New York parole violation fugitive warrant and will be transported back to New York after the extradition process has been completed.
