Police: 8 drivers cited, 6 vehicles impounded for drag racing in Medford

Six cars were impounded in Medford after the drivers were allegedly engaging in reckless activities, including drifting and burnouts, Suffolk County police say.

The eight drivers were all given multiple citations, according to police. They say 38 total citations were given out.

The drag racing activities were happening Thursday just before 10 p.m. Members of the Street Racing Task Force were the first to arrive on scene, according to police. They say they safely stopped all of the cars.

Police say this area near Munsell Road and National Boulevard is a known location to law enforcement for this type of car meetup.
