A Suffolk County man is accused of driving drunk before crashing on the East End Sunday night.

The Southampton Town Police Department responded to a call around 9 p.m. for a motor vehicle collision on Pegs Lane in Riverhead.

Once on scene, officers reported that the driver left the roadway and struck a retaining wall in front of 9 Pegs Lane.

Following an investigation, it was determined that Gerber Xuya, 31, of Riverhead, was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition, police say.

Xuya was transported to the Southampton police headquarters for processing and will be held for arraignment Monday at Southampton Town Justice Court.

He will face charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated and several violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
