Beginning Sept. 27, Lululemon is raising its wages. The athletic apparel company is raising its minimum base pay of $15 to $17 per hour, depending on role and market. Employees will also be eligible for a bonus program with the possibility to earn up to an additional $6 per hour for reaching store-based goals. The retailer has plans to hire more than 8,000 seasonal workers.
Microsoft is enlisting help from one of its biggest industry rivals. The tech giant has hired Amazon Cloud executive Charlie Bell as a corporate vice president. Bell was previously a contender for the role of CEO of Amazon Web Services after Andy Jassy was promoted to Amazon CEO. No details have been released on what Bell's responsibilities will be for Microsoft.
Alphabet's Wing subsidiary is nearing a major milestone as it soars to new heights in the drone-delivery market. Wing is close to delivering its 100,000th package to a customer. At its busiest delivery hub in Logan City, Australia, the company also set a new internal record of 4,500 deliveries in one week. Executives are optimistic that the company will become a popular method of delivery soon, as it grows and becomes more efficient.
