A Holbrook man accused of gunning down a man while he sat in a car in front of his house was sentenced today.
Luis Cherry pleaded guilty to murder charges and agreed to testify at the upcoming trial of the second suspect. Cherry was sentenced to 63 years to life in prison.
Prosecutors say the two men shot and killed John Williams, 39, in 2010 because a friend of Williams owed them money. The duo were trying to lure the friend to Williams' funeral.
Cherry's sentence is on top of a 40-year prison term he is currently serving for a murder in Queens that prosecutors say he committed three days before Williams' death.
