Destiny House Christian Center in Freeport has earmarked donated clothes for victims of the California fires.
“This is something that we need, to close the need, from the east coast to the West Coast, village to village, from my heart to theirs, our church’s heart to theirs," says Senior Pastor Pepper Martin.
Volunteers from Nesconset-based Paws of War are on the ground in California working to help pets that have survived the fires. They’re putting up feeding stations and leaving out water.
As News 12 reported, Hitch in Babylon has been collecting new items for fire victims. Since last week, the donations have poured in and continue to arrive.
