Long Islanders will be paying more on Monday to fill up their vehicles.The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline on the Island is currently $3.11. The average price this time last year was $2.29.The Lundberg Survey of 7,000 gas stations found that the average price of gasoline rose about 16 cents across the country in the last two weeks. The average price was lower than the Long Island average, according to the survey, with a gallon of regular costing $2.96. Drivers that spoke with News 12 Long Island were upset with the recent price increases and said they are concerned about how much more the prices will rise.
