A Long Islander became the first woman from the United States to sail solo around the world.

It took 29-year-old Cole Brauer, of East Hampton, over 130 days to sail over 26,000 nautical miles before finishing in Spain early Thursday.

The journey was part of an event called the Global Solo Challenge.

Brauer chronicled the journey on her Instagram page.
