A Long Island teen who got accepted to a number of colleges including five Ivy League schools announced her choice on News 12.
Maiya Raghu tells News 12, "I did pick where I'm committing. I'm gonna go to Princeton for the next four years."
The other schools she was accepted to were Brown, Columbia, Cornell and UPenn.
Raghu shared a video where she finds out with her parents that she was accepted to the five Ivy League schools.
"That was a crazy moment," says Raghu. "I opened them all at once with my two parents. It was just a really nice time."
Raghu hasn't decided what she's going do major in just yet, but there are a few things she enjoys. She says she likes business and biology so her major might be one of those.
Raghu says throughout high school she was interested in social justice and has an organization called Voices Amplified, which builds community and uplifts people of color.
"I suppose the end goal would be like in an ideal world maybe invent something and be able to go into that sort of business and grow that and give back to an issue that I care about," says Raghu.
Raghu is the first in her family to get into an Ivy League school.
