Long Island school reopening plans due Friday
Long Island school districts have until Friday to submit their reopening plans to the state.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has already announced data driven guidance.
New York schools will be permitted to reopen in regions that are in phase four if the daily infection rate remains below 5 percent over an average of 14 days.
On Wednesday, Vice President Mike Pence and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos visited a private school in North Carolina to advocate for schools to reopen this fall.
Gov. Cuomo says schools will close if the regional infection rate rises above 9 percent using a seven day average after Aug.1.
