Electronic waste, otherwise known as e-waste, is a growing problem.
Most electronics, including old computers and smartphones, can be broken down and recycled, but many recyclers warn that they need to be properly disposed of.
"If it is not responsibly recycled, it will end up in the landfill where it will affect the water and the soil," says Don Galindo, of Arrow Scrap.
Recyclers say they may pay for certain types of e-waste. Some will even pick up old electronics.
Experts say to check with county, town or local municipalities to see if there are special times and locations to drop off e-waste.
