Salt spreaders are hitting Long Island's roadways as snowfall continues this afternoon.

News 12 cameras were just off the LIE in Dix Hills where drivers were noticeably taking precautions.

Snowfall accumulations will range from 2-4 inches for much of the Island.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Long Island until 6 a.m. Sunday.
