The Long Beach Municipal Ice Arena will be renamed in honor of former New York Rangers head coach and general manager Emile Francis on Saturday.
Francis was responsible for making the decision to bring the Rangers to Long Beach - using the local ice rink for the team's official practice facility in the early '70s.
A Learn To Play clinic will take place on the ice with Rangers alumni in honor of the ceremony.
The arena's new title will be The Emile Francis Memorial Ice Arena at the City of Long Beach.
