A Selden homeowner says a live power line is blocking the entrance to her home after strong winds uprooted a tree that is now leaning on utility lines.

Nicole Disclafani says PSEG told her that the wire near her front door is live, but because her home still has electricity, her situation was not considered a high priority.

A neighbor also contacted the utility, worried the damaged tree could fall and knock out power to hundreds of nearby customers.

PSEG told News 12 its priority is restoring customers who lost power during the weekend storms. It says resources will be available for additional repairs once restoration efforts are complete, with work at the home expected on Tuesday morning.

Disclafani says her biggest concern is keeping her family and neighbors safe until the damaged tree and live wire are removed.
