Long Island University Students have started an online petition claiming the school is planning on make changes to its class schedule in the fall.
Right now, the petition has nearly 1,200 signatures.
Students claim LIU wants to change its 1 hour and 20 minute classes on Monday and Wednesday - to 50 minutes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The students say this would force commuters to drive to campus an extra day and also affect practice schedules for sports teams.
The potential changes would also shorten common hour - which could impact student organization.
News 12 has reached out to the university about the changes, have yet to hear back.
