A bicyclist was sent to the hospital Monday night after being hit by a Long Island Rail Road train near the Bethpage station.
Authorities say the 35-year-old man was taken to Nassau University Medical Center with labored breathing and a laceration to the head. He was struck around 8:35 p.m. by the westbound train headed to Penn Station, which was held at the site of the incident as police investigated.
