LIRR: Service restored after train hits person on tracks
The Long Island Rail Road experienced delays this afternoon after Babylon-bound train struck an unauthorized person on the tracks.
It happened at the Seaford station.
The LIRR says service has been restored with residual delays following the completion of a police investigation.
Service was also separately suspended Friday afternoon on the Ronkonkoma branch between Central Islip and Ronkonkoma due to a broken rail, but has since been restored.
Commuters are urged to check LIRR schedules.
