Saturday marks National Drug Take Back Day, and sites around Long Island and around the country are accepting unused, unwanted or expired pills.
Officials say it is part of an effort to combat opioid addiction by taking drugs out of circulation.
There are a number off drop-off points on Long Island.
You can search for locations in your area at the DEA website, or at the state attorney general's website, ClearYourCabinet.gov.
On the last National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, held back in October, officials say more than 42,000 pounds of medication were collected across New York state.
